2003-04 Lecture Series: Mathematics Across the Disciplines Lecture #2: Cliometrics: how did one cultural historian become a bean counter? Dr. Linda Pritchard Dr. Linda K. Pritchard is dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and professor of history at Eastern Michigan University. She has a Ph.D. and M.A. from the University of Pittsburgh and a bachelors degree from the University of Michigan. Her scholarship and publications focus on 19th century American religion, particularly the relationship of religious change to socioeconomic conditions in areas of rapid development. Her teaching areas include Religious History of the U.S., History of the American West, History of Women in the U.S. and the survey of U.S. History from pre-Columbus to 1877. Previously, she was the dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Arkansas State University (1998-2002) and an associate dean for Graduate Studies and Research in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences at The University of Texas at San Antonio (1993-1998). She began her career as an assistant professor of history at The University of Texas at San Antonio in 1980. |
